Introduction: Body Routing (“BR”) is a method by which a Scientology Inc. (“SI”) staff member (in this case, a Sea Org member, most likely from Los Angeles Org) goes out to the city streets and gets a raw public person (someone who has never been in SI) to go to L.A, Org. Once the BR gets the victim in the org, it is the org’s job to get the person to at least buy a book and/or pay and start a service.
BRs in L.A. try to interest their victim with either a free Dianetics movie ” ticket” or a ticket for a free Personality Test. A BR does not appear to tell their victim that they are going to be taken to a SI org.
In a new service to ex-Scientologists everywhere, Fred H. will act as this blog’s “West Coast Correspondent,” as he attempts to persuade a BR’s victim not to go to the org, not to sign anything, not to buy a book or do a service.
“Scientology Inc. is not L. Ron Hubbard’s Scientology,” Fred told me recently. “SI, with its altered use of what a “Floating Needle” is, for example, can hurt an individual, mentally and spiritually. I’m not stating, however, that LRH’s Scientology is perfect, considering what has been revealed through various blogs and court documents about LRH and the dubious source of some of Scientology’s materials.”
LRH’s Keeping Scientology Working (“KSW”) policy letter of February 7, 1965, says that it’s up to the Scientologist to ensure that the correct technology is applied. Fred adds. “Of the two ‘technologies’ available, I vote for LRH-sourced, the ‘lesser of two evils.'”
By thwarting a BRs victim from going to the nearest SI org for a book or a service, Fred is “Body Routing Not.”
Body Routing Not actually supports points 7, 8, 9 & 10, of KSW, to a lesser or greater degree:
Seven: Hammering out of existence incorrect technology.
Eight: Knocking out incorrect applications.
Nine: Closing the door on any possibility of incorrect technology.
Ten: Closing the door on incorrect application.
Body Routing Not is dedicated to the people who have been forced to disconnect from others through their association with Scientology Inc: the children cut off from their parents; the aunt who will never see her niece again; the grandparents were are afraid that they’ll die without ever having seen their children again; the boss who had to fire an employee; an employee who just got his walking papers. BRN is also dedicated to those who SI has bankrupted as well as those Scientologists trapped in their bubble; their spirits hardened, affinity tainted; reality cracked; communication smashed. BRN warmly tips its hat to every Scientologist wrongly declared a “Suppressive Person.”
This is a beginning of a new category in this blog, “Body Routing Not.” This is the first of five or six blogs in which we’ll play “catch up” with Fred’s Body Routing Not reports. Today’s blog shows Fred’s beginnings as a Body Router Not.
Body Routing Not—March 5, 2015—Vermont Ave. & Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, California
I just returned from the corner of Vermont and Sunset, where I talked to a couple of SI BRs from the PAC Base, in Los Angeles, California. They’re dressed in Sea Org attire (blue/black pants, long sleeved, white shirts) instead of the Parking Attendant attire I’ve seen them wearing in the recent past. They’re both in their late 20’s or early 30’s; the guy wears glasses and hands out “free” tickets for personality tests; the girl wears a dark sweater over her shoulders and leans against a light post.
“Did you know that the HBO Film documentary, Going Clear by Alex Gibney is coming to the Arclight Theater, Friday, March 13? That’s just down the street from here on Sunset Blvd.” says I, quite casually.
He hightails it to another part of the street corner, but not entirely out of earshot, as I speak to the girl.
“I’ve been in Scientology since 1977, but I will not support ‘Scientology Inc.’ Every time Scientology Inc. tries to slander Gibney with full-page ads in the New York Times, for example, all you’re doing is giving him free movie advertising.” I add that I’ve just returned from the library, where I picked up a copy of Lawrence Wright’s national bestseller, Going Clear, so I can read it before seeing the movie.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she replies. I hear an accent in her voice (Italian?), so maybe there’s a language barrier, but I also hear a hint of antagonism.
“That’s okay,” I answer, “you don’t need to know about it. But maybe someday you’ll become enlightened.”
Today’s “drill” brought about a realization: when we do something like this, we help poke a hole in the “bubble” that these Scientologists live in.
Comments from Mike Rinder’s Blog: “Congratulations Fred. Keep poking!” “I would have loved to see a video of your encounter.”
