This is Photojournalist Fred G. Haseney with his eye on scientology. The Freewinds Maiden Voyage XXVIII Anniversary is coming to the Pacific Area Command Base (“PAC Base” or “Big Blue”), the so-called “church” of scientology’s West Coast headquarters, located on L. Ron Hubbard Way (“LRH Way”). I went to PAC Base to discover what scientology has done in getting ready for Maiden Voyage. Beginning this Saturday, and running for four consecutive Saturdays, Maiden Voyage will be presented to scientology’s public in the form of four events:
- Saturday, June 25, 2016, “Unleashed”: “The Irresistible Power of OT Unleashed!”
- Saturday, July 02, 2016, “Vision”: “Honoring LRH’s Iconic Literary Vision!”
- Saturday, July 09, 2016, “Freedom”: “Propelling a Global Movement for Freedom!”
- Saturday, July 16, 2016, “Expansion”: “Strategic Advances for Unbridled Expansion!”
Location: L. Ron Hubbard Way. Also: 4810 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90027. Scientologists are to be seated by 7:30 PM; the events start at 8:00 PM. “Save these Saturday nights to be with thousands of fellow Scientologists getting briefed on International Scientology News!”
Maiden Voyage will most likely resemble the setup done for the Flag World Tour. If that’s the case, then L. Ron Hubbard Way will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians (with the exception of residents) from Sunset Blvd. to Fountain Avenue. Also, sidewalks will be closed on both sides of Catalina Street, from Sunset Blvd. to Fountain Avenue. I also envision that the sidewalks will be closed on both sides of Fountain Ave., from New Hampshire Ave. to Catalina St. Lastly, I predict that sidewalk on the south side of Sunset Blvd., from L. Ron Hubbard Way to Catalina St., will be closed. The event itself will most likely take place in the parking lot behind the Los Angeles Organization (“LA Day”). I suspect that scientologists who are unable to park at PAC Base will be shuttled from parking at the Hollywood Bowl.

The blue building at the end of the street is The Fountain, apartment homes for out-of-town scientologists while they’re in town getting training or auditing. Event equipment is lined up along the sidewalk on the west side of the street.

Those spots are now covered by a plywood lid. Is that private property? Probably! Demonstrators and protesters beware; step around them. Please don’t step on them.

Fred, the next time they try to “shatter” you with accusations of filming children, feel free to remind them that they have no problem with sticking a camera right in a kids face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9c82gAaPsI
It may be hard for them to accept but those “moral rules” apply to them too. 😉

Thanks for that, NOLAGirl. It’s good to revisit that video, too, especially after my recent experience with the accusations thrown or suggested by PAC Security Guards.
