This is Photojournalist Fred G. Haseney with his eye on scientology. Today, I’m reporting from scientology Media Productions (“SMP”) and the Pacific Area Command Base (“PAC Base” or “Big Blue”), the so-called “church” of scientology’s West Coast headquarters.

A magical gala is unfolding at SMP, where event preparations are being finalized for the historic and monumental Grand Opening of scientology Media Productions, at 4401 W. Sunset Blvd., about ten blocks east of PAC Base. Every time I walked past a Sea Org (“SO”) member, I proudly proclaimed, “Happy Grand Opening Day,” which elicited wide grins and joyous smiles from one and all. All along PAC Base, I witnessed dancing in the streets as SO members and public scientologists from every sector of the galaxy diverged on this corner of Teegeeack for a dazzling day of celebration in honor of David “Let Him Die” Miscavige Enterprises.

Photo Caption: The Golden Age of Shrub Tech arrives at the former front gate to SMP at 4401 W. Sunset Blvd., temporarily sealed shut for the event. The stage is just inside the gate.

Photo Caption: This close-up is what’s normally the “entrance” through the front gate at SMP, onto Sunset Blvd. Shrub Tech and Cone Tech. Magnificent! Stupendous!

Photo Caption: The building to the south of the SMP entrance, located at 4395 W. Sunset Blvd. is, by all accounts, scientology-owned. In front of that building, tables have been set up. Electronic equipment sits on the table behind the two guys. As I walked by, I proclaimed, to SO and security personnel alike, “Welcome to the Pregame Show!” A few smiled; most frowned. One guy took pictures of me as I waved.

Photo Caption: This vehicle is allowed to defy the “No Parking” signs posted on the east side of Sunset Blvd., just south of SMP’s entrance: Security Detection. The van has stacks of metal detectors waiting to be set-up as well as security wands. Will scientologists be required to removed their belts before walking through the metal detectors? Don’t bring any water!

Photo Caption: This is a screen grab from Security Detection’s website. “Located in Boston, MA – New York, NY – Tulsa, OK – Toledo, OH – Chicago, IL – Orlando, FL – Los Angeles, CA – Myrtle Beach, SC – Atlanta, GA.” “All of our metal detectors meet the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Institute of Law Enforcement. From the “Contact Us” webpage: “Mike Schwable, West Coast Technician, 748 N. Viceroy Ave., Covina, CA 91723; phone: 1-800-930-3766; fax: 1-866-702-9303; mschwable@securitydetection.com.”

Photo Caption: Red Carpet Tech! This must be the entrance, at least for the celebrities. Who is going to show up? Travolta? Cruise? Krusty?

Photo Caption: Meanwhile, along Hoover St., Truss and Tarp Tech is alive and well. No peeking!

Photo Caption: Double vision! I saw only one Super Power Generator on Hoover St. yesterday. Power Plus!

Photo Caption: Where it meets Sunset Dr., Commonwealth segues into this SMP rear gate. Notice the Golden Age of Red Ribbon and Bow Tech II. There’s a red umbrella by the gate; I wonder if non-celebrities will be admitted at this location?
